How the pronunciation check works
Press Say it and speak. The browser's Amharic speech recogniser (Google, language am-ET) writes down what it heard in Fidel. The app compares it with the target word by word and sound by sound: every word gets its own score, green syllables were heard correctly, red ones were missed or different. Letters that sound the same (ሀ ሐ ኀ, ሰ ሠ, አ ዐ, ጸ ፀ) count as equal.
Your own voice is also recorded, so you can press the ear button and compare it with the model voice. Works best in Google Chrome on a computer or Android phone, with the internet on.
